What is a Yurt?

A yurt is a portable, circular dwelling made of a lattice frame and poles and covered in insulator felt and weatherproof fabric. They are a sturdy, reliable type of tent. Yurts have been the primary style of home in Central Asia, particularly Mongolia, for thousands of years.

Our yurts are sourced from a Canadian supplier who believes in sustainability and tradition. They are mostly handmade in Mongolia with deep rooted links to the history of yurt living.

Yurts are warm, breathable and rich in tradition, connecting the earth to the sky providing shelter in both rustic and modern environments.

What can we do while at the farm?

We offer free time with the animals and provide feed to get close to them for fun and photos. A farm tour is held each evening when putting the animals in the barn. A fire pit BBQ and propane stove are provided for cooking or S’mores. Dunnville, Smithville and Wine Country are all a short drive for restaurants and wine.
