Kandy Yurt

Kandy Yurt

Kandy is a play on words for a special place in  Assyl and Michael’s heart.

Colorful and sweet with rich reds, traditional Mongolian detail and inviting décor.

The name stems from the beautiful city in Sri Lanka where the couple renewed vows in 2018.

The view overlooks the Welland River and produce garden and has a private BBQ / fire pit for up to two adults and two kids or four adults sleeping in a queen bed and full size futon.

Each yurt is 20’ in diameter and is much more spacious than you may think. It is heated by a wood stove which creates a cozy and relaxing environment.

What you should bring:

  • Food and Drinks
  • Boots
  • Weather appropriate clothing

*Farm tour with additional interaction with animals is included with each farm stay

Caspian Yurt

The tallest of all three yurts, The Caspian has the same diameter as Lyla and Kandy but is taller and feels even more spacious.

Coloured in Mongolian blue with traditional patterns on the Bagaans (central poles) and the Huns (roof rafters) the interior is subtly decorated to compliment the traditional colour scheme.

The Caspian name comes from the largest land locked sea on Earth which has coastal fronts with Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Russia and Kazakhstan. The latter being the childhood home for Assyl until moving to the Middle East and Canada.

Lyla Yurt

Lyla Yurt

  • This is subtly colored with a natural wood finish, contrasted with warm and homely décor. Lyla holds the largest wooden deck of our yurts and was the first yurt to be installed.

The view overlooks the Welland River and has a private BBQ / fire pit for up to two adults and two kids or three adults sleeping in a queen bed and twin daybed.

“Lyla” originates from the Oasis song by the same name, both the band and song have a big influence on Michael’s musical taste and  upbringing while ‘Oasis’ also being a fitting description for a stay at Riverside Oasis Farm.

Each yurt is 20’ in diameter and is much more spacious than you may think. It is heated by a wood stove which creates a cozy and relaxing environment.

What you should bring:
